About Us

It all started in 2018 when Ethan asked Marah out, and she ended up friend-zoning him.  No joke.  However, months later, they ended up going on their first date - fly fishing.  Ethan had been fly fishing and tying for a few years, so he was very comfortable on the water.  Marah, on the other hand, had zero experience, so that day was filled with a lot of stumbling around.  Zero fish were caught that day.
On a date later that week, they knew they were getting married.  After 7 months of dating, lots of fly fishing, and 7 months engagement, Ethan and Marah got married in January 2020.
After their Canadian Rockies honeymoon, the two of them have started two businesses, adopted two puppies, bought a house, started home renovations, traveled to Colorado, and lead a small group while enjoying life.  Their dream is to continue with Smokin’ Trout to serve fellow anglers and demonstrate the art of fly fishing.
